GOALKEEPERS OF THE MONTH FOR JUNE
MONDAY AGE GROUP: 9-12
LIAM WINSTANLEY
Liam has showed excellent progress, every week he has been coming to my goalkeeping sessions. I have worked with him to stay forward with his body position, and how to catch the ball and which part of the hand to catch the ball with.
Liam is always willing to learn and listen, and is an absolute pleasure to coach. He is very brave, his kicking has improved. We work on kicking the ball in the wide areas.
Liam has become more vocal, especially when he shouts 'keeper' when he comes for crosses. He very rarely misses training, this shows me excellent dedication and enthusiasm.
MONDAY AGE GROUP: 13-16
LUKE MALONEY
Luke has showed tremendous courage to come back from his broken wrist. Technically Luke has improved with every part of his goalkeeping. He is an excellent member of the team. Luke is always friendly with the new goalkeepers and he loves a chat.
He moved up to the older group, and the step up he took in his stride. We worked on kicking last week and it is important with his goal kicks, that he drives through the ball- looking for height, distance and accuracy to hit the wide areas.
Luke has been at my goalkeeping school from the very beginning, and is a delight to coach and he is an exceptional young boy.
